APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR - DR. DANIEL C.S. AHN

Kuala Lumpur – Ramunia Holdings Berhad today announced the appointment of Dr. Daniel C.S Ahn to its Board, as Independent Non-Executive Director, with immediate effect. Dr. Ahn is also appointed as Director of International Marketing for Ramunia International Holdings Limited (Labuan), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ramunia Holdings Berhad. The appointment of Dr. Ahn is in line with the Management’s plan to aggressively expand its market share in the international oil and gas market.

Dr. Ahn was the former President of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (“HHI”) and is credited with the founding of HHI’s Offshore and Engineering Division. His invaluable contribution to HHI has made the company one of the region’s most prestigious and sought-after offshore construction company. During his tenure at HHI, Dr. Ahn was instrumental in the modernization of HHI’s fabrication facilities and management systems and took on construction of marine fleets to serve the growing needs of the oil and gas industry.

Dr. Ahn earned his Advanced Management Program from the Harvard Business School, in addition to his Ph. D in Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also holds two Masters of Science degrees from the MIT, namely in Naval Architecture and Meteorology/Oceanography. He also has several publications to his name, among which are “Run as far as you can see, then you’ll see more”, a biographical essay, and Environment Effects of Nuclear Power Plants at Coastal Waters”.

Having achieved its goal of establishing itself as a leading oil and gas company securing contracts in the local market, the appointment of Dr. Ahn is timely in ensuring the extension of Ramunia’s success in the international market.
