RAMUNIA FABRICATORS CELEBRATES CONTRACTOR SAFETY RECOGNITION AWARD

Kuala Lumpur - Ramunia Fabricators Sdn Bhd has been awarded the Contractors Safety Recognition Award for 2003/2004 by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. (EMEPMI)

The award is in recognition of safety precautions taken by Ramunia Fabricators while completing their projects with EMEPMI. The Safety Awards were presented to EMEPMI's contractors for completing between 10,000 to 200,000 manhours without any lost time or recorded incidents in 2003 and 2004.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Wira Dr Fong Chan Onn presented the awards at a luncheon held at a hotel in the city recently.

Receiving the award on behalf of Ramunia Fabricators was its Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer Arshad Ahmad.

Ramunia Fabricators is a Malaysian incorporated company, actively involved in the oil & gas industry, with 100 per cent Bumiputra shareholding. It commenced operations on the January 17, 2001 with a paid-up capital of RM5 million (USD 1.23M).

The core activities of the company are fabrications of major steel structures, engineering and offshore marine services. The strength of the Company lies in its ability to integrate client's designs and construction requirements and in providing commissioning and total facilities solutions. Its expertise is in designing, constructing, commissioning and maintaining oil and gas facilities, covering both onshore and offshore facilities and structures.

EMEPMI also awarded the Gold Awards to 33 other contractors for the same category. Two contractors were awarded the highest Grand Award for recording more than 200,000 workhours without a lost time or recorded incidents during the same period. The contractors were involved in construction, installation, and drilling activities for EMEPMI's new offshore facilities, and retrofitting projects to current facilities.

Ramunia Fabricators had also recently received the management system certificate, ISO 9001:2000, from Det Norske Veritas.

Its products and services range for the ISO award include: construction, hook-up and commissioning of heavy engineering structure for the oil and gas industries and other heavy industries.

Ramunia Fabricators' holding company, Ramunia Holdings Berhad, is scheduled to be listed on the Second Board of the Bursa Malaysia on Jan 28.
